The following provides an overview of each subject in our high school program for the year. The classical Christian approach teaches each subject within a Christ-centered framework.  The classical “tools of learning” are employed in the classroom, which accelerate the student’s acquisition of academic skills and comprehension.   The program utilizes an “omnibus” approach to studying Bible, and the history, literature, and rhetoric.

Apologetics -  Understanding the Times (Summit Ministries), Christian Apologetics (Van Til), Every Thought Captive (Pratt)

US Government and Economics:   Includes student textbooks, and field trips to a local factory, Smithsonian Museums, National Capitol, the Pentagon, Arlington Cemetery, Ronald Reagan Trade Center in Washington, DC, and the following materials:  American Government (Bob Jones Press), Economics and the Christian Perspective (Abeka), Whatever Happened to Penny Candy (Maybury) and many others.

American and World Impact Literature that has impacted public policy, social justice, and change:  The Jungle, (Upton Sinclair), To Kill A Mockingbird (Lee), Gullivar’s Travels (Swift), Les Miserables (Hugo), Glass Menagerie (Williams), A Doll’s House (Ibsen), 12 Angry Men (Rose), Lost Horizon (Hilton), Carry a Big Stick (Ferguson), Amazing Grace, the story of William Wilberforce (Metaxes) and others

Mathematics: Student is placed in mathematics appropriate for growth each year. Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus, or AP Calculus

Science:  Biology and Lab (Apologia/Bob Jones), Physics and Lab (Apologia)

Classics and Foreign Language:  Classical Writing:  Herodotus and Demosthenes, Foreign Language (Dual Enrollment) Senior Thesis (Class of 2017)
